For My Dear Friend...

Breaking free from the norm
To take the road less-traveled.
While the know-it-alls around me
Speak of horrors along that way.
Yet I took the road anyway
With some hesitation in my mind.
And then I find you taking the same route,
So I joined you, thinking, "Why not?"

Not long after, I see for myself
The horrors they talk about.
But you dealt with those hurdles
And stayed cool, calm and collected.
And in awe, we find along the way
Certain wonders the others knew not.
Those rewards that you can only get
After overcoming the hurdles you encounter.

It was a wild roller-coaster ride,
That's how you make me feel.
And crazy as it sounds,
I'll do it all over again.
Because it is rare to find people
Who could make me feel alive.
It makes me thank my lucky stars
That your path crossed mine.
